Dreigiau advance to Cup semi-final

Newcastle Emlyn 36 Brynamman 5

The Emlyn Dreigiau advance to the semi-final of the Llanelli and District Cup with this hard earned victory over a spirited Brynamman side on Saturday. In a game which also counted as a League fixture the victory advances Emlyn's push for the League and Cup double.

Emlyn's mixture of youth and experience again came to the fore with the pack paving the way for this victory. Tries in the first half by man of the match second row Chris Ludgate, flanker Llyr Evans, number eight and captain Niki Williams, centre Ifan Davies, and outside half Crwys Rees who also kicked three conversions meant that the game was basically done and dusted by half time. The only score of the second half came from promising full back Curtis Bradford.

Emlyn will now play Lampeter 2 XV in a home semi-final in April. Their quest for the League continues this Wednesday night when they host the students of Trinity/St.Davids in a 7-15 kick off.
